STILLWATER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Stillwater Police Department conducted a death investigation on Gurba Drive South in Stillwater. Police arrested Stephen Surin Jr., 29, of Stillwater, and is accused of stabbing his step-father. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! The investigation lasted overnight into Friday. Mechanicville Police, Saratoga County Sheriff's Office Deputies, and NewYork State Police are also assisting with the investigation. LOUIS – This Thanksgiving, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is encouraging everyone to consider a plant-based lifestyle and is giving away free vegan roasts near their new billboard. The distribution of vegan roasts is scheduled for November 17 at noon. PETA's billboard is on westbound I-64 along the Exit 38B/Jefferson Avenue off-ramp. PETA is promoting the "ThanksVegan" campaign with four bus shelter ads situated between the 1500 and 1800 blocks of Market Street. These strategically placed advertisements line the St. Louis Thanks-for-Giving parade route.PETA says that in the U.S. alone, approximately 46 million turkeys are slaughtered and sold for Thanksgiving each year. VAN CLEVE, Mo. -- A teen died in a Boone County crash Thursday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified Kara Teel, 18, as the victim.The crash report states that the westbound SUV driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Missouri Route 124 and Route CC. The SUV crashed into a southbound Ford F600 truck passing through the intersection. The front of the SUV hit the right side of the truck. Teel was a passenger in the 2008 Rav 4.First responders were called to the scene to help. Teel was pronounced deceased at around 1:20 p.m. Arrest made in deadly Clayton shooting An ambulance took the SUV driver to the hospital. She is listed in serious condition. The Colorado Rapids named Chris Armas as their next head coach, the 10th in team history, in an announcement Friday morning.The announcement confirms what club sources told The Denver Post earlier this week. A tow truck driver was arrested after crashing into several parked vehicles and one moving car in downtown Los Angeles early Friday morning. The crash was reported around 3 a.m. in the 1800 block of Griffith Avenue. Video showed the truck overturning and landing on the parked vehicles as it barreled down the street. A tow truck was involved in a crash in downtown Los Angeles on Nov. 17, 2023. A 63-year-old woman died after being hit by a driver in Los Angeles, authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department announced Friday.On Thursday around 10:35 p.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound on Manchester Boulevard collided with the woman as she was walking across the intersection at Cimarron Street, a news release said.The driver fled the scene, traveling eastbound on Manchester Boulevard without stopping, identifying themselves, or helping the victim.The woman died at the scene, officials said.
