The New York Jets returned to work Monday and Aaron Rodgers was right there with them.During a time of despair on the field for a struggling squad, the quarterback’s regular presence around the team’s facility might provide a mental pick-me-up.“Just seeing Aaron this morning and actually seeing Aaron in there doing treatment,” left guard Laken Tomlinson said, “a guy who’s in there doing everything he can treatment-wise, and for me, coming in after game that we had and seeing him, how hard he’s been working, that was motivation. “That’s motivation for me.”Every little bit will help right about now.The Jets (4-7) are on a four-game losing streak and coming off a rough 34-13 loss to Miami last Friday that included a Hail Mary attempt by New York at the end of the first half that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown.Coach Robert Saleh huddled up with his team Monday morning after a few days off and had a message for everyone.“He challenged us,” Tomlinson s...

Struggling Buccaneers still in position to control destiny in weak NFC South

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers keep wasting opportunities to take control of the woeful NFC South.Losing six of seven games following a 3-1 start, however, hasn’t done irreparable harm to the Bucs’ chances of winning a third consecutive division title. That’s because the rival Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints haven’t been able to separate themselves from the pack, either.“As crazy as it may sound, we’re one game out of first place. But the way we’re playing, it’s got to be turned around,” coach Todd Bowles said after Sunday’s 27-20 loss at Indianapolis left the Bucs at 4-7.“It feels like we’re 10 games out, and we’re one game out,” Bowles added. “But we’ve got to play better. And we understand that as a unit.”It’s the second week in a row the Bucs have been unable to pick up ground in a race Tampa Bay is trying to win for the third straight season. At 5-6, the Falcons and Saints share the division lead. Despite falling on hard times sin...

LONDON (AP) — Willian converted two of the game’s three second-half penalties — including the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time — to help Fulham defeat Wolverhampton 3-2 in another English Premier League match dominated by VAR calls on Monday. The former Brazil winger’s first spot kick in the 59th minute made it 2-1, only for Hwang Hee-chan to win and then convert his own penalty in the 75th to leave an end-to-end game at Craven Cottage heading for a draw. There was a late twist as Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes miscontrolled the ball in his own area and stuck out his leg, which brushed against Fulham substitute Harry Wilson as he nipped in to take possession. After a long video review, the on-field decision to not award a penalty was changed and Willian stepped up to send his kick into the bottom-left corner, giving Fulham a third league win.Fulham held the lead three times in the match, firstly after Alex Iwobi steered in a cross by Antonee Robinson in the seventh minute. He tries to do his best to simulate that.“It’s a nice little weekly tradition that I can’t wait to get back.”Harbaugh opened his press conference Monday by hailing his assistants and players for nearly 10 minutes for their performance in a 30-24 win over Ohio State, a game he watched at home with his wife while he served the final game of his suspension.“Who could possibly have it better than us?” Harbaugh asked reporters ahead of his return to the No. 2 Wolverines’ sideline, which will come Saturday night in Indianapo...

A South Florida woman learned a valuable lesson over the weekend—never be too trusting of people or technology. While shopping at a Miami Home Depot on Saturday, Camila Rodriguez discovered her Tesla’s recording captured a bold theft from her car. She said she made the mistake of not checking if her car was locked. Rodriguez is now speaking out in order to prevent more thefts from happening, especially during the holiday shopping season. “When I opened the trunk, surprisingly all of my shopping bags were gone,” said Rodriguez. “I think it’s important to identify this person, not because I want to do like a witch hunt or anything, but because I think it’s really important that he doesn’t do this to other people. That it doesn’t go unpunished.”Reviewing the Tesla footage revealed an individual approaching her car with what appeared to be a rag as he used it to access the door handles.“So we went over the recording right then...

On Monday, he said his 12-year-old and 16-year-old cousins had been freed and taken to a hospital to be treated by the Red Cross. Greenberg said his cousins’ father is still being held hostage. Speaking with 7NEWS, Greenberg said he saw a short video clip of his freed relatives, adding that they seemed to be in good physical condition. Once they’re home, Greenberg said, their community will help them adjust. “Once they are able to come home and be welcomed by their families, we will be helping them on the road to recovery, to move on with their lives as 12- and 16-year-old children,” Greenberg said. Greenberg noted his cousins’ resilience, “and their ability to withstand and endure unthinkable circumstances over the past 52 da...
