YUKON, Okla. (KFOR) — "Homecoming" had more than one meaning at Friday evening's high school football game in Yukon, Oklahoma. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joseph Jarvis, with the Army National Guard, surprised his children on Friday night at their school's homecoming, reuniting with his family a month earlier than expected.Jarvis had just returned from his overseas deployment — his fourth deployment overall. He drove to Yukon from Texas on Friday, arriving before Yukon High School's homecoming football game — and just in time to walk his daughter Emelyn onto the field for homecoming court. "He missed her first steps and, you know, when I was praying and thinking about this, I just was like, 'Man, I just hope that he can be here to walk her these steps out onto the field,'" his wife Heather Jarvis told Nexstar's KFOR. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) said there would be lane closures on Interstate 35 beginning Sunday due to construction.According to TxDOT, the closures would be along Williams Drive.The left lane of Northbound I-35 from the State Highway 29/University Avenue exit (261) to Northwest Boulevard would be closed nightly from Sunday, Oct. 1 through Monday, Oct. 2 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.On Northbound I-35 from the San Gabriel River to Northwest Boulevard, the left lane would be closed Sunday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.Northbound I-35 from the San Gabriel River to Northwest Boulevard would be reduced to one lane Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.Alternating Northbound I-35 frontage road lanes from the San Gabriel River to Williams Drive would be closed Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.The Williams Drive bridge at I-35 would also be closed nightly from Sunday through Thursday, Oct. 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.All closures are weather permitting, according to TxDOT.Lafayette Public Library evacuated due to bomb threat

Lafayette police have evacuated the Lafayette Public Library due to an anonymous bomb threat.The Lafayette Public Library has received an anonymous bomb threat. The reward for information about an April double murder at a restaurant in northwest Denver has increased to $32,600.A fundraiser was held in August in memory of Emerall Vaughn-Dahler and Ignacio “Nacho” Gutierrez Morales, who were both shot and killed at American Elm, the West Highland restaurant where they both worked, on April 24.Vaughn-Dahler, 34, joined American Elm in June 2021 as a server and later became general manager.Gutierrez Morales, 58, had worked for the restaurant as a prep cook since it opened in 2019.Metro Denver Crime Stoppers announced the reward increase Wednesday on Facebook.“Someone saw something, no matter how seemingly small,” the post states.Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. A man accused of killing two small girls while driving a stolen truck received no leniency Friday from a Contra Costa County judge, who had been tasked with reconsidering his sentence after an appellate court tossed one of the man’s five convictions.Noe Saucedo, 29, saw his potential prison term effectively reduced by only a few years after Judge Rebecca Hardie imposed the stiffest possible remaining sentence against him during an emotional and tear-filled hearing inside a Pittsburg courthouse.Calling the case “profoundly disturbing and sad,” Hardie said she saw few, if any, mitigating factors suggesting Saucedo should walk free anytime soon. (AP) — New Anaheim Ducks forward Alex Killorn will be sidelined for four to six weeks with a broken finger, the team announced Saturday.Killorn was injured Wednesday night in an exhibition game against San Jose. He signed a four-year, $25 million deal with Anaheim in July after playing the previous 11 seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning.The 34-year-old Killorn won two Stanley Cup championships and scored 198 goals with Tampa Bay.
