A man who allegedly attacked a person with a knife was taken into custody after leading authorities on a pursuit in Hesperia over the weekend, officials said Monday.The assault was reported around 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the 18900 block of Live Oak Street, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.The victim and suspect were at a home when a verbal altercation turned physical. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Ruben Munoz, allegedly assaulted the victim with a knife and threatened to hurt witnesses, officials said.As responding deputies arrived at the scene, Munoz drove off. Despite efforts to stop him, the suspect led authorities on a chase for miles before his vehicle was disabled and he was taken into custody.Munoz was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, threatening crime with intent to terrorize and evading a peace officer with disregard of safety, officials said. A man was stabbed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame early Monday.The attack was reported just before 12:45 a.m., and when officers arrived to the scene at Hollywood Boulevard between Las Palmas and Cherokee avenues, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.Footage from the scene showed multiple police vehicles, several of which were parked alongside the Vogue Multicultural Museum, formerly known as the Vogue Theatre.The man, who is believed to have been between 25 and 30 years old, was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. Two-Car Collision on Britto Road Left One DeadMERCED COUNTY, CA (September 11, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, a man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 152.The incident occurred just before 5:40 a.m., on August 29th, on Highway 152 at Britto Road.According to reports, the man allegedly crossed both lanes of Highway 152 on Turner Island after failing to stop at a traffic light.His car collided head-on with an approaching Honda carrying a 12-year-old kid and a 38-year-old mother.Emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the collision shortly after. There, they pronounced the driver dead at the scene.Meanwhile, medical responders rushed the other passenger to a hospital for further treatment.Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor. Hundreds of people took to the streets during the annual colorful Oakland Pride Festival and Parade on Sunday.The two-day event, sponsored by Oakland Pride and Pridefest Oakland, celebrated the cultures and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community in Oakland and the surrounding Bay Area.More than 80 contingents rode on floats or in cars along seven blocks of Broadway between 12th and 19th Streets as thousands of people lined the sidewalks to cheer them on. They represented a wide array of community leaders, politicians, service groups, businesses, sponsors and allies. Palo Alto residents received some good news alongside their ice cream scoops at the Midtown neighborhood’s annual ice cream social yesterday: The imperiled Mike’s Diner Bar will remain open and will soon begin offering breakfast and lunch.The popular 29-year-old Palo Alto restaurant had been embroiled in mediation efforts with the property owner, Scher Holdings LLC, after business owner Mike Wallau paid rent one day late in mid-July, a delay caused by a family medical emergency. The property owner’s lease included a year-long stipulation that the restaurant could be evicted if rent was paid even one day late, Wallau said.The eviction notice was to have taken effect today, Sept. 11, but on Sept. 8, Wallau reached an agreement with the property owners to continue to operate the restaurant.
