The calendar says June — though the weather still seems to be stuck in May — and that means it’s time to kick off San Jose’s festival season this weekend.South First Street in downtown San Jose should be packed Friday and Saturday nights with the return of SubZERO festival — a DIY street fair that brings together artists, dancers and bands. Mighty Mike McGee will emcee the main stage between San Carlos and San Salvador streets, with four bands set to play Friday night and four more Saturday, starting at 6:15 p.m. There’ll be art vendors, food trucks and more music on the Beer Garden Stage at South First and William streets.The first night of SubZERO coincides with the monthly South First Fridays art walk, so you can also explore galleries including the Anno Domini, the Institute of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Quilts & Textiles. (KRON) -- A bicyclist is in the hospital after a hit-and-run collision Wednesday night, the Concord Police Department (CPD) announced on social media. The collision happened around 9:44 p.m. at the intersection of Willow Pass Road and Diamond Boulevard.As of Thursday afternoon, the victim, who is described as a 39-year-old man, is listed in critical condition. The suspect's vehicle appears to be a black Honda Civic, Concord police said. The Honda would have damage to its front end, hood and possibly damage to the front windshield and roof. Willow Pass Road and Diamond Boulevard is located next to the Denny's and Gen Korean BBQ House -- right outside the Willows Shopping Center. CPD will continue to investigate this collision. (KDVR) — Police were searching Thursday afternoon for an inmate who escaped from the Adams County jail in Brighton.The inmate, Jared Sheppard, is described as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes. He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds, according to the Brighton Police Department. Sheppard, 39, was last seen wearing an orange and white striped jumpsuit with shackles.
